Is Lasik for You?
Lasik may seem like an instant cure for eyesight problems, but it is not for everyone. According to experts, you may not be a suitable candidate for Lasik if you have the following conditions:
- You need high amounts of corrections (i.e. have very bad eyesight.)
- You have very thin corneas.
- Your vision has not stabilized yet. Many young adults experience changes in their glasses prescriptions, but vision often stabilizes by the time they reach their 20s.
- You have dry eye disease, which must be treated before Lasik can be performed.
- You have large pupils.
- You are very sensitive to light transmissions.
- You have certain health problems such as degenerative or autoimmune diseases which may affect your body's ability to heal properly.
