Feel Fabulous, Confident & Happy!

Easy mood-boosting strategies to add that sparkle back.
Whether it's pressure at work or one of those lousy days when everything seems to go wrong, we all experience an off day from time to time. But what if you're feeling like this more often than not? You'll be pleased to know that you can turn things around and get your sparkle back. We asked author and life coach Dr. Pam Spurr for her top tips on how to feel your best again.

Appreciate yourself

We often pay most attention to what we don't like about ourselves at the expense of the good things. How often do you focus on your best attributes? "Think about your three best qualities -- things like being a good friend, being kind, caring, conscientious, enthusiastic or witty and hold these in your mind as you walk out the door," suggests Dr. Spurr. You'll feel a lot better about yourself and appreciate all the blessings in your life.

Say yes only when you mean it

When your friends and family ask you to do something or go somewhere that you just don't feel like it, do you agree to their request anyway? This is a sure-fire way to feel dragged down. Learning to say no is key to improving your self-esteem. "Confident people have the confidence to know their limits, recognize when they're taking on too much and have the confidence to say no when they have already have lots going on," says Dr. Spurr.

Do something different

Getting out of your daily rut can be as simple as changing up your usual routine. "Changing everyday habits helps us to feel like we're living life to the fullest," Spurr explains. People tend to fear change, "but if you can embrace change and view it as something that brings new opportunities and new things into your life, it naturally lifts your confidence and mood."

To embrace change, Spurr suggests regularly breaking your little habits. This doesn't have to be groundbreaking. The key is to start creating a spontaneous vibe within you. Go somewhere different for your lunch break, find a different route on your travels or try socializing somewhere other than where you normally go. Don't leave it to someone else to organize either. Be the one who plans it out and chooses the venue.
