Bacterial vaginosis
Discharge: Increased discharge (possibly milky) with foul, fishy odor
Other Signs: Itching or burning in or near the vagina

This condition is actually more common than yeast infections. Most of the time, there is no significant signs of inflammation. Vagina discharge has a "fishy" odor, which can be worse after sex. The condition is caused by a decrease in the usually dominant vaginal bacteria, lactobacilli, and the overpopulation of the other bacteria such as Gardnerella, which produces the foul odor.

The doctor will do a "wet prep", meaning taking the vaginal secretion sample for microscopic analysis. Once diagnosis is made, he will prescribe an antibiotic medication, which may come in the form of oral or vaginal preparation. Avoid clothing that can trap moisture.
