RDA of Vitamins for Adults (25-50 years old)
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)
  • RDA Male: 60mg, Female: 60mg
  • Deficiency: Scurvy - a disease characterized by spongy gums, loosening of the teeth & bleeding into the skin & mucous membranes
  • Overdosage: Diarrhoea & development of renal stones

Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol)
  • RDA Male: 400IU, Female: 400IU
  • Overdosage: Hypercalcemia (the presence of an excess of calcium in the blood), muscle weakness, anorexia, headache, nausea, vomiting & bone pain

Vitamin E (alpha-Tocopherol)
  • RDA Male: 15IU, Female: 12IU
  • Overdosage: Diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fatigue, weakness & blood thinning

Vitamin K (Menadione)
  • RDA
  • Male: 80mcg, Female: 65mcg
