| | 5 / 12 Month 4 (Week 16)
The placenta has taken over production of the hormones needed to sustain your pregnancy. The fetus now measures about 11 cm (4.4 inches) and weighs about 85 grams (3 ounces). Most of the baby's organs are formed, and the gender may be detectable by ultrasound. By 16 weeks, the baby has eyelids, finger and toe nails. The baby starts sensing sounds and light, is able to suck and swallow, and has an activity schedule that includes naps.
