Sulphur / resorcinol

ACTION: Kills bacteria and unclogs pores.

CONCENTRATION: Sulphur/Resorcinol (3-10.6).

DESCRIPTION: Sulphur is effective at reducing inflammatory lesions, but it may cause whitehead and blackhead formations. Therefore, it's often combined with resorcinol to eliminate comedones. Resorcinol is often added to sulphur acne medications because of its antiseptic and disinfectant properties as well as its ability to unclog pores by causing dead skin cells to slough off. Sulphur / resorcinol preparations are available in creams and lotions and work by acting as a drying agent, thereby reducing bacteria and helping to unclog pores. With regular use, whiteheads and inflamed pimples are controlled.
