Those who had the greatest increase in physical activity gained 1.76 fewer pounds every four years, compared to those who had the greatest decrease in activity.
Go easy on the alcohol. An alcoholic drink a day was linked to increased weight gain.
Clock in six to eight hours of sleep. People who sleep less than six hours or more than eight hours a night put on more weight.
Cut back on TV time. Watching an additional hour of television a day added 0.31 pounds.
