Perfect Pedicure 101

5. Buff down dead skin.
To achieve smooth soles, massage an exfoliating scrub onto the bottom of your feet. Then, using a foot file or pumice stone, run over the sole, heel and the sides of your feet to slough away dead skin. Rinse with cool water.

6. Moisturize feet.
Dry off your feet thoroughly with towel, and then rub in an invigorating or moisturizing foot cream.

7. Cuticle care.
Gently push back cuticles with an orange stick and rub in some cuticle oil to soften them. Leave this on for 2 to 3 minutes and then remove any excess oil with nail-polish remover.

8. Finish with polish.
Make application easier with a foam toe separator. Apply a thin base coat to the nails - this helps prevent dark-colored polish from staining your nails. Wait 1 minute and then apply 2 coats of color, followed by one coat of top coat. Give your polish time to dry before putting on footwear.
